My Character – Chirpy Chico

2yr, semester 1, 3dsmax TUTORIALS

January 11th, 2012 § Leave a Comment

This crate was made in class.. I also made a textured barrel and garage space in class but now the 3ds max files wont let me access them I dnt know why, therefore I cant get a render of them.

I got a 3ds max book out of the library and followed a tutorial on how to make this tower i thought it would give tips when making my petrol station…

Below u can see my model and in the background I have edited the environment of the render to add a sky

Below I added textures

Camera view

This was made in class I was my first attempt as making a face..

Because I found the face above dificult I found a more simple head tutorial to begin with

I made this simple chair to practise texturing the cusion in photoshop

This is me experimenting with 3ds mas to make a hat

This is another tutorail I done to help me model my character

I wasnt happy with my boot in my first attempt so here I have tried it again

This is my first building in 3ds max.. not very good lol

This is my second attempt at a building and I am delighted with it .. so much improvement from my first

How cool is this!!.. I need glass in a tunel in my garage space and in the windows.. here I have practised making glass.. I am very happy with the out comé the glass is very realistic.  The windows of my garage need to be blue glass so I will add a shade of blue to this texture..

Here I copied my sports water bottle and added the glass texture again.. It look v relaistic and exactly like my bottle..

Major Project.. LEGO LEARN

May 9th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

Beneath displays how a child parent relationship will benefit from Lego Learn.

The various Lego Learn pen functions

These are the app functions and how you move from one screen to another.( app screens are 4x smaller than their correct size).

………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Some photoshop sketches of pens I like. From doing these sketches I can see I like the last one because the squares remind me of abstract lego bricks. I would change the colours a little particulary the bottem of the pen and also make it a little narrower.

Here is my final pen design with the bottem corrected and the colours altered.

This is my first app screen including my 3 main illustrated Lego Learn characters. I kept the colours on the app and pen the same so they match well together. I rendered the app screen on photoshop setting each page to the correct measurments.

I didn”t want the main background colours of my apps to be black and then I came up with the idea of making each screen look like a cork pin board. This is one of my lego learn characters used for my home page and some beveled buttons and little beveled circles to make it look more like lego. I have introduced some feminine colour to the standard lego colours.

The lego learn man guiding the child to choose their subject.

This is the Lego Learn typing screen . I thought it was important to have a typing screen as it will get children introduce to type at a young age. I added pins to the board to make it look like the work is pinned up.

This is the screen where the child will hand write. When learning to write the app can be set to help guide the child when trying to make letter shapes. There is also automatic spell check .

This is the art screen the child can access with various different art equipment and colours. All work will be saved into their art gallery which you will see later.

Polaroid photos pinned up to the cork board . Each option has type and an image to help the child select the correct option.

Here the parent can easily communicate with the teacher and check any difficulties the child is having or how they are succeding. This will improve parent, pupil and teacher relationship and make it easier for parents to get information on how their child is doing without having to meet up with the teacher personaly.

The gallery where all the child’s work is saved directly to.

This page was inspired by stamps I wanted the buttons to be a unque shape.

This is the gallery of work. I have added a back button so you can go to the previous page from this screen instead of going all the way back  home. Simply scroll up and down to view the work.

This is one of my first renderings on 3dmax. I am very happy with how it turned out. This cant be my final pen design as it is to football based and would not appeal to all children. This gave me the idea that for a little more money children would purhase a personal pen for example an animal pen or a sports pen etc.

I rendered this pen in 3d Max and it was meant to look like a female lego pen but my little 8 year old cousin informed me that it looked like an old granny. So I have decided it doesn’t work for this project.

This is one of my first attempts at making the app on photoshop. I like the Lego Learn character but I thought the colours weren’t colourfull enough as I wanted my app to be really bright and inviting.

My pen talks, records, takes pictures and videos class. Below are some lego head designed buttons for each function.  The idea behind this was to make the pen very easy to use.

Some more renders I made on 3d max. I love the lego colours and the shapes of each pen. Some would be to awkward to hold particulary the green one. By rendering each pen it gave me more design ideas and how I could improve my pen designs.
